Another Fashion Friday is upon us! This one is extra special because it’s the last Friday of the month, which means I’ll be doing a big roundup of all my favorite things fashion for the month of May—outfits I wore, aesthetics I like, items I bought, and even my latest sewing projects . If you’re new and not a fan of fashion: don’t worry, this is just a weekly thing, and every day except Friday is something else. If you’re new and you like fashion, buckle up because this is going to be fun!

Favorite Outfits of May

This May wasn’t as warm as I had hoped, so some of the spring clothes I’ve been excited to wear didn’t get their chance to shine. But it was Mother’s Day month, and as I’ve written about before, I demand a lot on Mother’s Day, so I had plenty of occasions to dress up.

We did get a few warm days though, and I was quick to bring out my STAUD swimmers bag, which I actually bought last year and haven’t gotten as much wear out of as I was hoping. People on Twitter made fun of me for pairing it with a black outfit, but I say that’s wildly uncreative and there is black in the bag if you look closely enough. Besides, it’s all about the aesthetic. Stripes are nautical, the bag is water-oriented, it just works.

This next outfit felt a little goofy—like I was wearing a costume—but it was fun. The suit is from Nana Jacqueline (warning; they run small.) The bag is the classic Self Portrait bow bag (I got it a while ago on TheRealReal, and I don’t think they still sell the plain black one—but you can check out their entire selection here.) The shoes are just Vivaia comfort heels and I was able to walk for over an hour in them without any issues:

For a casual Mother’s Day walk with my family, I pulled out my old Pop & Suki takeout-style handbag (ancient find, I’m afraid,) a pastel yellow Frankie’s Bikinis cardigan, and Abercrombie Curve Love high waisted flare jeans. The shoes are a very old style from Everlane.

We also did a Mother’s Day brunch (I require a lot, I know!) where I wore a few somewhat recent buys. Notably, this Sandro cardigan which I got second hand, my STAUD Tommy bag in off-white floral, a Skims black maxi skirt, and Vivaia black mesh flats.

This one might be my second-favorite outfit of the month, second only to…..THIS.
