I 100% have a guy friend who would put his man cave together like this. He’s the most meticulous man I’ve ever met. You could go move everything on his dresser 2 inches to the left and the next time he passed it would move everything back without even acknowledging anything.

TBH The thing that's offensive about that "man cave" is the fact that the entrance is labeled "man cave" and the bar is labeled "bar." That's where that "live, laugh, love" comment was coming from. Putting words on things is an interior decorating trend that a certain type of person really likes, but it utterly offensive to the design sensibilities of the rest of the human population.

Other than that I think it's fine. I actually think having a bar in the man cave is cool and good.

Haha! You're right!

I've been looking at cabins in mountainous areas around the US, and there's always some dumbass labeling like that.

The laundry rooms will say "Wash & Dry" and the kitchen will have a sign that says "Food." You know, just in case you forget these things.

However, there was one that had a picture in the bathroom, over the toilet that said, "The Shitter. Please enjoy your visit." But that *was* funny!

Stupid stuff like that. Nobody has that crap in their house for real... do they...?

I mostly agree with you! But 45 degree coffee tables are for interior designers and people who don't use their living rooms. In this context it's just a whole lot of sharp edges into peoples' knees.

My cousin and his husband bought a house that previously belonged to another male couple, who turned the heated garage into a man cave. It’s like ten times more macho than the room pictured here. 😂

“Wow that’s a great Ad Bob, we should run it, it’s cool and very bro coded.”

“Yeah, I think the font and the logo might be suggestive to some people though”

“Oh, like who, THE JEWS?”

Scene.

A lot of Vance edits were coming from the Right and were done as a sign of affection, so much so that Vance posted one yesterday. Why were they doing this? I really can’t give a clear explanation. I think it has something to do with the “One of us!” feelings that Poasters have towards Vance.

Did they intend to look a little Nazi? I mean I wouldn’t just assume so but it’s 2025 so I wouldn’t assume not, either. Was this ad 100% targeted to get NazicarniMAGA’s money? Absofuckinglutely

I swear I’m not right wing but if you want to take your frozen fries to the next level - melt a little beef tallow on your sheet pan and just give the fries a little toss and shake before you stick them in to cook. So good! My husband always comments on how extra delicious the fries are when I do this.

We really need to stop ceding things to the far right. Take back the beef tallow and okay sign, FGS.

The beef tallow being right wing coded is hilarious to me. Are they healthier? Probably a little. Do they taste better? Definitely

You eat at Steak N' Shake? (not a hater, just doesn't seem like a very CHH place)

Weirdly, it's subsidizing Maxim these days since they have the same owner, but he only cares about Maxim.

Just put in a probationary subscription (Monthly) because I am getting tapped out. I didn't like all the Vance stuff because I, too, come from Hillbilly stock, the ethnic group (Scots-Irish) that has become a cheap laugh-getter. Everybody loves a cheap shot but they underestimate us poo folk. (Sob)

What caught me was the "Honey, you need to clean...." Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. Oh, and for a new, oh-so-hip word: "fashy," which my autocorrect wants to make "fishy." Gotta keep up with you kids, you know. Cheers.

As I remember it, the Vance edits started because of right wingers posting glamed up masculine Vances. Then people responded by making fat/feminine Vances

I think this tweet by Rep. Mike Collins back in October is the one that kicked it off. https://x.com/RepMikeCollins/status/1841462716348678274?s=19

People realize that Gothic or Blackletter typefaces were used all over the damn place, not just by Nazis, right (and hilariously, Hitler actually banned Fraktur for official use in 1941)?

Super obscure places like the LITERAL FRONT PAGE OF THE NEW YORK TIMES.

Some poor Steak N Shake social media intern tried to use an “old fashioned” font for a “throwback” promotion and y’all assume they are planning to be the official chocolate malt provider to the fourth reich.

I’m quite literally rofling imagining “musical number from a diverse group of women that promotes friendships, community, phDs and sex worker” lol

It is simultaneously very incoherent hodgepodge as an existence and very (Bluesky coded) coherent ideology lol

“I’d say it’s for two reasons: people can tell he’s exactly the kind of guy who would be upset about these, and there’s a high likelihood that he’ll see them because he’s clearly very online.”

What an objectively horrible take. The right has embraced the Vance memes. I’m all in on Vance thinks this is hilarious. As for your take, I’d say you’re uncomfortable with how popular Vance is and your ideology blinders kicked in as a self defense measure.
