This is the perfect opportunity to recommend a novella, "Labyrinth", by one of my favorite SF authors, Lois McMaster Bujold. Female monster-fucking at center stage.
I just found it very strange that he thinks white people have been particularly nice to cows. There's no way this white supremacist guy is also a vegan right?
That is fun, but it's going to still be annoying when people fall for the inevitable bullshit false equivalence in a few years when Republicans say "Democrats/liberal media can't be trusted because they made up that blowjob story" despite the fact that no actual Democrats or actual news media are claiming this to be true.
As someone that met Trump several times in my earlier life, it is 100% believable to me he gave a bj to Clinton. Particularly if it was during his partying 90s days when he was still a Democrat and Clinton was a partner-in-crime
I want a romance series about this, four books at least. Starting way back with heartwarming stories of young boyhoods in trailer parks and flashy mansions.
So after all this time it turns out Monica's stained dress was really Trump's?
I have a hard time believing this because of what CHH said, that the way men like Trump conceive of sex precludes them from assuming a submissive role - especially with another man.
I could see it happening in the scenario where Trump got too bored from sleeping with hot girls so to spice it up, sucked some D (most likely in an orgy cuz "its not gay in a 3 way")
Oof, Megyn Kelly’s, uh, change of mind about the definition of pedophilia is… a take. I get that she may not be speaking for 100% of Trump supporters on this issue. But what does it say that “does that even count as pedophilia, really?” as a response to the Epstein/Trump thing is 100% consistent with the MAGA ethos?
I used to think Ben Shapiro was the talking head on the right who was most willing to trade integrity to continue to stick with MAGA but Megyn Kelly has been on an absolute tear lately. In 2016, she was supposed to be one of the "mature" Fox hosts who was actually willing to kind of push back on Trump, and iirc she got canned from Fox for it and later even briefly became a token conservative host on either CNN or MSNBC with an unsuccessful show.
Rather than going full Bulwark/Lincoln Project though, she boomeranged back to the right and now there is basically nothing or no-one too crazy for her to support. She's here defending sex with 15 year olds, pushing insane conspiracy theories, and taking the groyper side in the recent Tucker Carlson-Nick Fuentes scandal.
No one wants to hear this because people think pointing out a fact means defending a behavior, but pedophilia is a predominant or exclusive attraction to *prepubescent children.* Kelly added, "It's just ... whatever. It's sick. Every time we start talking about Epstein, it makes your skin crawl, right? The whole thing is just disgusting."
Thanks for pointing that out. It looks like the narrower definition of pedophilia is the correct one in a medical/scientific context, and the broader one (sex with minors of any age) is common in a legal context. Since the point is not primarily to diagnose Epstein, but rather to make it clear that he habitually committed horrifying (and illegal) acts, I don’t know how much that distinction matters. And coming from a source with a long history of bad-faith arguments defending the indefensible, what it looks like is a trial balloon of defending Epstein and Trump’s actions, accompanied with a CYA statement for plausible deniability. But if you want to say “let’s not call what Epstein did pedophilia, let’s refer to it as [xyz] instead”, I’m cool with it, as long as we both agree that all participants and enablers (including the ones on the same side of the political aisle as I am) should never see the outside of a prison again.
She said the whole thing was disgusting, and I assume that as the mother of a fourteen-year-old daughter, she wouldn’t be okay with some Epstein type acting predatory towards her daughter next year. Lawyers can get pedantic like this (🙋♀️) and while I don’t know what Megyn Kelly’s current licensure status is, she used to be a working attorney.
Pedophilia is a psychiatric diagnosis, so I guess you’re good. 🙂 Lawyers just get picky about definitions in general because law school trains us to think in a “must meet certain criteria to fulfill the definition” way.
It was such a freakish week in Trump TwitterXland that I worried that you might not be getting enough sleep! Glad you were able to summarize it all so nicely and it didn't take over your life (it practically did take over mine).
Polygamy guy was really wringing every possible interpretation out of the silent multiplier:
"Christian Twitter mostly had issues with this, but he argued that the use of a singular “wife” in the Bible means nothing because there could be a silent multiplier."
In more "the Bible has many such takes" news, I watched Sam Harris interview Douglas Wilson, the Moscow, Idaho Christian nationalist leader. Lord, the heavy lifting the Bible has to do to allow blow jobs between a man and a woman - it even made the dour Harris grin. If you didn't watch it I'll give you the TLDR version: blow jobs are not sodomy, the Song of Solomon says so! Anal, well, that's another story.
And like I say this as a super secular guy who have zero Christian or even Jewish background at all but… I find it rather amusing that ppl who can only speak English have such a confidence in “what is actually written in bible that only he knows” lol
Like I apologize if he actually can read Koine Greek or ancient Hebrew but I highly doubt it is the case
The only thing I can think of is in combination with quantifiers, where you can have singular nouns that are interpreted as a plurality in context:
“Every girl picked up her pencil and drew a line.”
There are clearly multiple pencils here, even though it’s not actually plural. It basically means the same thing as “All the girls picked up their pencils…” etc.
But I have no idea if that’s what these people are talking about.
I can't say I have any idea what this particular guy meant when he used the term...
But, in a more general sense, some languages don't mark plurals explicitly and you have to infer from context.
English does this occasionally (sheep --> sheep, moose --> moose), but it's far and away an exception for us.
(I didn't learn any specific term called "silent multiplier" when I studied linguistics decades ago, but I also didn't exactly specialize in plural markers and any field of study is too huge to learn completely in five years anyway.)
I don't know very much about the Greek the NT was written in, and I'm definitely no Bible expert, so I don't know whether it would be obvious if "wife" was singular or plural in the original text.
I started out reading that Monogamish Guy/Wife Guy Entryism article being 100% on board against that foolish 40something tech bro with the date-me doc with an insanely long/unrealistic list of criteria for his would-be wife. By the end, I was almost sympathetic to the tech bro over the writer who thinks that meeting his sweetie at a young age is some sort of proof of moral superiority (yeah dude, stick it to all those guys who don't get lucky right away!). By the time I was done reading the comments, I wanted to set the writer on fire.
Yeah, I’m with you. The Monogamish guy is cringy at best, but the writer of that piece just came off as a blowhard who simultaneously wanted his essay to be a shitpost and have a valid thesis/argument
That's the funny thing to me. You know if you were a man with two straight female partners they would have yelled at you and probably turned you into something like that biblical poly guy.
I think part of the right-left thing nowadays is whether you think men or women are morally superior, whether you're citing the Bible or feminism.
Eh, I mean we get plenty of hate when people find out (we’re pretty private though) and most of it comes from one “side”. We also choose to have fairly standard gender roles though. That way we can be hated by everyone ;)
Look, Trump didn’t blow Clinton. But many people are saying that if he did perform the act, it was the best job in history
Thanks for including my monster fucker piece! Also wait til the cow guy hears about India
I thought the same thing!

Don’t forget rishathra on Larry Niven’s Ringworld.
I resent calling Taura a monster. She is a magnificent work of art.
Thank you Baron Ryoval! 😉
Baron Ryoval bought her after the original super soldier project was discontinued. He did not design her.
I just found it very strange that he thinks white people have been particularly nice to cows. There's no way this white supremacist guy is also a vegan right?
Cattle have conned humanity into supporting them in their billions by being tasty.
Ahh Protestantism. Every man his own pope to do with the Bible as he wishes.
“Arg I’m the pope now!” -King Henry VIII
Tbf if there was a way for the left to abandon their support for poly relationships, it’s to give them a religious tint
Using a New Testament verse about choosing God over your family to justify marrying multiple women…how goated can you get
I also do not think Trump gave Bubba a bj, BUT i do firmly expect that this rumor is utterly torturing both of them, and for that joy I DO BELIEVE
That is fun, but it's going to still be annoying when people fall for the inevitable bullshit false equivalence in a few years when Republicans say "Democrats/liberal media can't be trusted because they made up that blowjob story" despite the fact that no actual Democrats or actual news media are claiming this to be true.
Deffo more Trump than BC (Bill Clinton). He definitely has some BC (bicurious) energy.
The best part is if they deny it, who would believe them this time?
Maybe Bill Clinton is just doing Christian Polygyny with Hillary and Trump and whoever else he's gotten blow jobs from over the years
As someone that met Trump several times in my earlier life, it is 100% believable to me he gave a bj to Clinton. Particularly if it was during his partying 90s days when he was still a Democrat and Clinton was a partner-in-crime

Monster Fucker series
Haha. It will include the development arc into a slight germaphobe after catching many germs and viruses in his earlier days

that cow tweet is so insane its hilarious
I assume neither/none of the wives are fashion stylists.

Wait, so… was I… mansplaining to you about legal definitions?? Okay, I’m gonna go dig a hole and crawl in it now.
Pedophilia is a psychiatric diagnosis, so I guess you’re good. 🙂 Lawyers just get picky about definitions in general because law school trains us to think in a “must meet certain criteria to fulfill the definition” way.
As always, thank you for the weekly joy of this column

As a lover of the English language, I have to ask, is “silent multiplier” a real thing? I’ve never heard of it. Google AI says:
“A ‘silent multiplier’ is not a standard English language term.”
The only thing I can think of is in combination with quantifiers, where you can have singular nouns that are interpreted as a plurality in context:
“Every girl picked up her pencil and drew a line.”

Lol, I opened the article, saw, his fiancée is a person I found insufferable on Twitter (rationalist, lmao), and gave up after a few paragraphs.
Mainstream poly discourse is so weird as a woman with two straight male partners, all of us very normal and boring.
That's the funny thing to me. You know if you were a man with two straight female partners they would have yelled at you and probably turned you into something like that biblical poly guy.

So many questions, but it's really none of my business. Enjoy your life. ;)
Ironically, the writer of the Aspiring Wife Guy essay comes off as more of a prick than the actual aspiring wife guy
