Conservatives and Liberals Find Different People Hot
From the bodies we prefer to our actual sex lives in practice, politics affects our sexuality.
Conservatives and liberals are having different sex—in particular, because this liberal woman right here is having sex with YOUR MUM HAHAHAHA mate bloody hell you should have seen the look on your face
No but seriously—from the looks we prefer in a partner, to our level of pickiness and openness, to the actual sex we are having, there are clear differences by political alignment, and not just the things you might suspect.
I will publish these findings in two parts. This half will focus on our physical preferences, because spare for the scenario of a glory hole, physical attraction comes into play before any of the sex really happens. The second part (which I will publish next week) will focus on the actual sex that people are having—down to the specific acts and more.
I am drawing from data from two separate surveys I did—for part one, a survey where I asked people to rate digitally-generated headless bodies in a binary yes/no fashion (with a third option to single a body out as “their type”) and for part two next week, another one where I asked people about their most recent sexual encounter. These were two different surveys with presumably some overlap in their respondents. The body rating survey had about 3,000 respondents while the sexual experience survey had about 4,000 respondents. Put together, I discovered some interesting things about how our politics distinguishes us on the dating apps and in the bedroom.
Right-Wing People are Pickier
When it comes to bodies alone, right-wingers are pickier than left-wingers, and men are pickier than women.
