Several months ago, I noticed a certain level of polish and elegance in affluent women slightly older than my age (36), and came to one realization: they had MILFmaxxed, and I hadn’t. It’s not that I was ugly or out of shape, but rather that I had focused all my appearance effort into fashion and fitness, and absolutely none into things like hair, makeup, or cosmetic procedures because I have an irrational fear of spending money on things that have recurring maintenance payments. I didn’t look slovenly by any means, but I didn’t look done.

As I mentioned before, you obviously don’t have to care about these things. Most people don’t care at all. But I am someone who cares, and I live in a world where a lot of other people care. It’s also not about pressure from my husband, who would be happy with a much lower degree of effort than what I was doing at the time, provided I continued to wear leggings around him. But I just wanted to look a little…better overall in a way my husband might appreciate even if he isn’t asking for it.

While I posed the question about cosmetic procedures in my original article, I did not wind up opting for them—not even injectables or lasers. I still couldn’t justify the cost, when juxtaposing the price of Botox or fillers with the much more enjoyable purchase of a handbag or dress. Instead, I focused only on what was readily available online—all things I could do myself. (And by the way, any links here are not affiliate links and all of the things I’m recommending just come from my genuine enjoyment).

Note that the fitness component was covered in my (and my husband’s) fitness and nutrition guide, especially for parents and even more especially for postpartum mothers. And voila, our results:

This guide will focus on things like hair, skincare and other fun and shallow frivolities!

Skin

I’ve always taken good care of my skin, but I tried a few more things in my quest to be the hottest woman layered between three scarves and a pair of earmuffs at school pickup.
