This could be [part of] why the 2016 primary was so ineffective against trump. It was a boys club of guys who never personally dealt with feminine bullying before
When Trump called Graydon Carter a sissy, only to say the gayest thing possible later in the same tweet about how Carter's a loser because his Oscars party wasn't hot enough.
Easily the funniest thing I've read in months. Thank you for this. It perfectly encapsulates my new framework for accepting Trump's ongoing omnipresence: he is fucking hilarious, whether he means to be or not. I am allowing myself to appreciate the hilarity now, and my quality of life is greatly improved as a result.
I mean it, this might be the best Trump article I’ve read in 8 years. It’s easy to lose sight of how different he was before he was a full time politician.
Coming in late but thank you for explaining why I'm not enjoying this election as much as I should... I just can't handle seeing a bitch ruin their life this way
Trump has legitimate talent as an insult comic. That has slipped a great deal in the last 5 years or so. But generally, yes, Trump doesn't care about being president; he cares about being dominant and performing. A talk show is absolutely the right medium for that, and not any kind of real life business where he stiffs contractors, and obviously not politics.
I thought as a politician the peak of his charisma was definitely the 2016 primaries, when he was at his most catty (didnt hurt that the people he was lashing out at were also terrible people) and DGAF casualness. But since then and moreso the past few years, he's kept the whiny bitch angle of a mean girl but none of the fun.
Which I thought would hurt him this go-around, but turns out Americans just like whiny vindictive babies to lead their country.

EXACTLY! They were completely unprepared for weaponized meangirlism

Hang it up in MOMA.

Thank you so much!!
I genuinely wish I could feel this way. Impossible. Too much is at stake.

His last truly inspired moment as when he called the founder of Amazon “Jeff Bozo” in 2020.
This theory may or may not be backed up by linguistic research: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/10/trump-feminine-speaking-style-214391/ (scroll down for a graphic comparing trump to other presidential candidates)
Puts the camp in campaign he does.
NGL, buying Greenland was a great idea

Trump is a sassy bitch queen....OMG I fucking love this!

This made me laugh out loud (a few times!) You totally explain why he gets to people. This analysis is amazing!!!!
He was an asshole then, he’s an asshole now. I am NOT part of the “we” who misses anything about him.
This is a really good article.
I also thought he would have made a great TV show host as well...
And there was some analysis (I'm trying to find it now) that said his speech pattern was more typically feminine (talking about feelings and so on).
So brilliant
