Married Moms Over 40 Are Having The Best Sex
There is evidence that women over 40 have more pleasurable sex than other women--especially if they're married mothers.
Not too long ago, I sent out a survey asking people about their most recent sexual experience. I was inspired by a similar (not my own) survey done on oral sex, which used the most recent sexual encounter as a barometer to measure rates of oral sex between the genders (You’ll never guess who gets more! Never!) The methodology makes sense to me—most of us can remember our most recent sexual encounter pretty well, but if asked a more vague question such as “how often do you give oral sex?” the answer is much more subjective. Unless you are DJ Khaled, for example, you might overestimate.
Ultimately, my “most recent sexual encounter” survey had pretty good turnout! I got almost 4,000 responses.
These responses confirmed something I suspected for a long time—casual sex just isn’t as fulfilling as sex within a committed relationship (including non-married but monogamous partners, although those still outperformed strangers and hookups.) But I learned something else too, which was much more surprising: married moms over 40—a group frequently stereotyped as being too stressed for sex, if not completely uninterested—had the most enjoyable sex of all women.
