The Evie dress brings to mine Jane Coasten's point that conservatives are divided into team "the porn I jerk off to is good" and team " the porn I jerk off to is bad".

What I think is funny about the Evie dress marketing campaign is that they are very un-subtly leaning into the sex appeal angle while also crying "we're not sexualizing this dress, you're just slut-shaming our model for having big boobs!" when the trads express their disapproval of that angle. Masterful pot-stirring.

Raw milkmaid dress discourse hasn't touched on the whole braless-ness of it all. She's clearly braless, walking around for 'other men to enjoy', while they would definitely criticize Kim Kardashian for wearing something similar. Evie is actually quite political, they have articles discouraging birth control and working outside the home. The sexy dress drops are, imo, to get publicity and encourage younger women to subscribe by intimating that they're not really that conservative (they are).

Re Trump's hair: it was debunked shortly thereafter as hat head. Luckily I must have been occupied for those few hours so I missed it.

The dirty dark secret of most conservatives is that they HATE being the conservative - the prude, the boring one, the stick in the mud. This is why they love Trump because he made conservatism cool, crass, and scandalous - the way they always dreamed of being.

But old habits die hard. A lot of them still practice prudery, and a lot of others are always looking for ways to subtley break from that prudery - perhaps by wearing the Raw Milk Dress!

Evie is 100% conservative (I think they may even get grant $$ can’t prove it though)

The raw milkmaid dress is tier 1 trolling.

Also, the neckline, sleeves, and bust of this dress are horribly unflattering on most women unless they have extremely slender arms.

I would venture I guess that many big chested women, even if they are otherwise in good shape, would not wear this dress because it complicates wearing a bra and is just not flattering.

First, not sure how any red blooded person can complain about that dress or model.

Second, it's funny when trads get mad at one ad, but mum's the word on every female Fox News presenter =)

I apologize for once suggesting Trump would look better bald…

Also, “psychosexual panic driven discourse” is my favorite kind, so I appreciate back-to-back “Women who, whorishly, are ogled by me” / “Identifying through my parasocial fixation as better than dirty homewreckers.”

(God forbid a woman do anything etc etc)

Trump's hair is much, much thinner than it was 4 years ago. I remember way back in like 2014 or 2015, he said he wouldn't have time to golf or do his hair routine ("I'd probably just slick it back") if he were president. It looks like his natural hair loss is outpacing his routine, though those photos are a function of the fact he didn't bother to do it because he was just going to be wearing his dumb hat.

Some extra lore from that last tweet from the lesbian landlord drama: it's definitely referencing a viral tumblr post from the Legend of Korra fandom, https://fanlore.org/wiki/Handmaiden_and_Feudal_Lord

Good write-up. "Y'all be insane" is also my take.

One of their posts advertising their dress was history on the smallpox vaccine and how great it was. I tried to guess in advance what people would be most angry about in the comments (modesty or vaccines). The winner was modesty, but second place actually went to people being mad that the dress was potentially made in China.

I’m keeping abreast of the milkmaid dress controversy. I find it udderly fascinating that people are so quick to anger. Can’t we all be bosom buddies?
