Many Such Takes: Au Pair Bra, Cardboard Ayatollah, Donna Kelce's Home Renovation
The most unhinged discourse of the week, always free
Welcome back to Many Such Takes, my weekly roundup of Twitter (or other online, but mostly Twitter) drama, funny tweets and unsung news of the week. Many Such Takes will always be free, and you can find previous issues here.
Au Pair Bra
Some good old-school-style Twitter drama hit when an au pair reported that the father she worked for in Europe instructed her to start wearing a bra. I don’t know where she lives in Europe, but clearly not France.
Anyway, overwhelmingly people felt the father was right to call out the inappropriate dressing, but that this should have been the mother’s responsibility so it wasn’t so awkward.
I started thinking about these tweets a lot recently because I watched The Housemaid which featured a somewhat similar conflict about an attractive nanny (Sydney Sweeney, who could probably start a civil war by going braless) and I was like:
Of course, low-stakes drama like this brings out the best tweets:
This bit was probably the funniest, in my humble opinion:
Cardboard Ayatollah
I’ve never fallen for an AI-generated video…until now. That’s right, I didn’t even think “fat lady breaking glass bridge with rocks” was real—I’m very discerning. But this week, a phony video of Trump unveiling a cardboard version of the ayatollah to Laura Ingraham went viral, and having seen a lot of stupid AI slop, I can testify that this one is really convincing. Trump also says, “Isn’t that cool?” which is exactly what he would say if he was unveiling a cardboard ayatollah.
To be honest, I was very disappointed to discover this one was fake. Trump has been on a Trumpy-moment roll lately, including playing Ave Maria when someone in his audience had a medical emergency.
But this ruse didn’t begin with the Trump video—apparently it began with a separate fake video showing people in Iran presenting a cardboard rendering of the late ayatollah.
However, like any conspiracy theory, we have truthers. #staywoke.
Donna Kelce’s Home Renovation
As if you weren’t traumatized enough by the cardboard ayataollah, we have another major world event: Travis Kelce’s mom is having her home renovated. TMZ EXCLUSIVE SCOOP!!!!!
Naturally, people reacted strongly to this insane, world-changing news:
Funny Tweets/Other Happenings
Very important Jameela Jamil news, rivaled only by Donna Kelce’s home renovation:
Haven’t seen this before: a guy is on a dating app looking for a lesbian couple to be his friends:
New conspiracy theory just dropped that Rush Limbaugh is the same person as Jim Morrison. Personally, I will only bother with this once “they” admit that the cardboard ayatollah was real:
Ah, the four genders:
What the hell did I miss since I stopped playing The Sims?

Waiting to see the 'How to draw' cartoon guy feature in a fashion round-up too.
The fit is really going unnecessarily hard.
1. Her waist-length hair was "covering everything"? Is this like an Eve in the garden situation?
2. The racial stereotype looks like some flavor of Eastern European/Central Asian steppe person, like a Cossack or a Magyar
