CHH, I know you have been a veteran of the Reddit trenches and are no stranger to internet shit, and I salute you for your service.

But I still can't help but worry about your mental health each time you have to compile these.

Honestly, at least with LSD there is a chance you come out of it with less materialism, more empathy, and a newfound appreciation for the interconnectedness of all life.

I'm not sure compiling the top ten hits of Loli Hitler Rape Groyper would have quite the same effect.

JD Vance is, I think, actually hyper online and tied into circles like Curtis Yarvan, BAP, Raw Egg Nationalist, etc.

Pretty sure you've written about these folks in past issues so should be familiar with them. So I'm suspecting that this is why his twitter follows are going to be strange from an outside obvserver, or if that context is missing..

This is stuff tied into the Thiel and Natcon universe. Vance is Thiel's guy and Thiel is heavily involved in NatCon and that's the sort of world where that New Right stuff is coming out of.

Antonio Garcia Martinez (of chaos monkeys fame) wrote an article about in Tablet like a month ago

https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/drinking-jd-vance-trump-vice-president

JD Vance came up in that world I think he worked for Thiel connected VC place before getting into politics. And also think Thiel money was what supported him in his Ohio seat originally.

And so when he got chosen that's why you saw the Silicon Valley money flood into Trumps campaign like Musk etc.

edit just to add: its actually a pretty crazy rabbit hole to go down and its totally wild that this hyper online stuff is sort of interacting with actual politics lol

The creepiness of ‘Love You Forever’ and ‘The Giving Tree’ has been debated for years in the various parenting pages I’ve been involved with. I’d say it’s about evenly split between those who hate and those who love. Personally, The Giving Tree makes me crazy: sure, literally cut yourself down to a stump for your kids, no problem!

And the ‘infant’ movie showing means parents can bring babies or small children (who are not paying attention to the screen) and not worry about disturbing others, for anyone who isn’t aware.

The only thing I can imagine that's more miserable than being Chaya Raichik is being one of her attack dogs. She's a real net loss for the species.

You learn something new every day, sometimes six things:

Everyone in Palestine has mast cell activation syndrome.

All neurodivergent people have MCAS.

MCAS and PTSD are the same thing.

MCAS (and PTSD and neurodivergence) are caused by unsanitary conditions.

Histamine triggers PTSD symptoms.

You should put great weight on how a Palestinian would react when you're on a bus in the USA.

Remember when JD Vance was just the author of a bestselling memoir about the white working poor in Appalachia, and not a figurehead of the alt-right-adjacent? Better times.
