Another Fashion Friday is upon us! This one is extra special because it’s the last Friday of the month, which means I’ll be doing a big roundup of all my favorite things fashion for the month of July—outfits I wore, aesthetics I like, items I bought, and even my latest sewing projects. If you’re new and not a fan of fashion: don’t worry, this is just a weekly thing, and every day except Friday is something else. If you’re new and you like fashion, buckle up because this is going to be fun!
Well, congratulations, fuckos, you’ve all collectively bullied me into a distaste for pastels and bodycon. Just kidding (mostly.) But I am moving away from my ultra-Barbie stuff, and I can’t tell if it’s about my own taste, other people’s, or some combination.
from is one of my fashion inspirations lately, and she put together a cool list of her own fashion rules. One thing I like about her style is she’s not afraid of having fun, or wearing color, but for whatever reason she doesn’t look as silly as I do. So I read through her post, and am making a few additional rules for myself specifically for the next few months:No buying any colored items except for pastel blue, dark green, red and burgundy (no, I won’t explain.)
Wear fewer (albeit not zero) crop tops
Only wear one color at a time in any given outfit (neutrals, metallics, navy and black/white don’t count as colors.)
If something feels uncomfortable, silly and impractical, it probably is and I shouldn’t wear it.
If I’m wearing something sexy or form-fitting, add something deliberately unsexy, like flats, an oversized shirt, or sneakers (this one is painful for me, but alas, it must be done.)
