Hey, merry Christmas and happy Hanukkah! Thank you so much for following this Substack and contributing to my lifelong goal of not working a 9-5 anymore (granted, I still work a lot even if my husband did PIP me, it’s just more like, 6-7 AM, 9-10 AM, 3-5 PM and then 9-10 PM. But hey!! At least I don’t have to go to “conferences” anymore.)
For this holiday, I wanted to give you guys a gift: a previous paid article about the rise and fall of millennial business casual clubwear, which I’ve made free for everyone! See link at bottom of this post.
I mean this from the bottom of my heart: you guys have made my dreams possible. A year ago, I was working in tech and trying to enjoy the tail end of my maternity leave while staring down a depressing barrel of knowing I’d be working a job I didn’t like, potentially for another two decades, with no more maternity leaves (unless some of you can convince Nick to have another baby- can we get a Change.org petition going?) Because of your support—especially from paid subscribers—I am now celebrating my second Christmas with two children, overjoyed at the fact that every Sunday I no longer have Sunday Scaries—instead I’m excited for Banger Article Mondays.
Some of you have even given me ideas for articles and submitted to my paid subscriber AMA/mailbag (paid subscribers feel free to DM the CHH Chat for the link!) Founding members (aka Sicko/Gooner Tier) have joined the discussion at the Discord. Free subscribers have been incredibly impactful too, especially providing much-needed QTs on Twitter and Bluesky. No matter how you’ve joined me, you’ve made a huge impact in helping me work my dream career and get (hopefully) funny and interesting content out to the people, 5-7 times a week. That’s a lot of writing, and you guys have helped make it possible!
If you’re not already a subscriber and came along this post through some other avenue, I strongly encourage you to subscribe- try out a free subscription if you’re not sure about committing yet! Although I promise, I write so much that paid subscribers get more than their money’s worth.
The Rise and Fall of Millennial Business Casual Clubwear
We millennials like to complain about having experienced the worst times in history—from 9/11 to the 2008 recession to the ascension of both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. But one of the worst things we’ve had to live through was business casual clubwear.
Babies are the best, here's my support for one more!
Nick
Have another baby. Hope that helps
